What residents appreciate the most
The implementation of a signal-free junction has significantly alleviated previous traffic congestion at a critical intersection. This change has been effective in keeping vehicles moving, reducing long waits at signals, and improving the overall flow of traffic, which was previously a major bottleneck causing jams extending to key areas like Wells Fargo and Ikea. This continuous movement is also noted to be more fuel-efficient than frequent stopping and starting.
100 cars taking a U-turn and merging might seem like a mess, but imagine if all 100 were allowed to take a direct right instead. That junction would be completely choked. Especially with Indian road sense where someone taking a right could very well be coming from the extreme left lane, cutting across three others and making it a nightmare for everyone.
This was a major signal junction delaying traffic and blocking the road creating jam till wells fargo despite the flyover.. and on the other side till Ikea. So they made it a signal free junction.
Most people would get on the flyover. Yes the people who’re beside the flyover need to take some weird turns but the number of people would be less. So inconvenience few people so rest all would get a smoother experience, that’s the logic.
Stopping and moving multiple times consumes more fuel than
My car gives 16.5 km range in the city but on a nice good constant road it gets 19. Moral of story is contant speed will give more millage that stopping frequently.
This reduces accidents and traffic indiscipline. To a huge degree.
Junctions have become a place of road rage. These U turns keep traffic moving and keep road rage in control. This is good as long as well enforced.
If that in fact decreases traffic I don't think that's bad idea, I have seen huge highway exits being closed in other countries to decrease the traffic which increase the commute by atleast 3-4 miles.
The general preference of Hyderabad is to go around in a moving traffic, even if slow, for extra miles than to wait at unpredictable signal.
Well I’ll give you my first hand experience as I live beside arete hospital which is right in front of the junction, this change saved me 20 mins one way everyday. It was horrible earlier just to get to the other side of the road. With two u turns under the fly over and removing the signal the traffic never stopes. It may look like its a lot of distance to cover buy id prefer it this way.
I honestly feel it’s a pretty good idea. Even if there’s a signal, you’d have to spend 2-3 mins. You’re just spending 1-2 mins more to have a traffic free solution.
maintaining a constant speed is a key element of fuel-efficient driving. Rapid changes in speed, like frequent acceleration and braking, are what actually lead to increased fuel consumption.

The redesigned traffic system, particularly the signal-free junction and U-turn arrangements, contributes to a significant reduction in accidents and promotes better traffic discipline by making it more difficult for drivers to engage in unsafe practices like driving on footpaths or going the wrong way.

This reduces accidents and traffic indiscipline. To a huge degree. You tell people to be disciplined and no one pays heed. They’ll go wrong way, drive on footpaths and what not. So the government has this unique problems to solve in India where they have to figure out ways to make it impossible to be indisciplined.

For individuals residing near the junction, the new traffic flow, despite involving U-turns, has resulted in a noticeable reduction in daily commute time, saving up to 20 minutes one way.

There is a recognized need and discussion for a dedicated metro station for Divyasree NSL Orion, which would greatly improve public transportation access for the tech park and surrounding residential areas, including the villas, by connecting them to key locations like Biodiversity Junction, Raheja Commerzone, and Sattva Knowledge Park.
Worth it if Divyasree NSL Orion gets its own station, Biodiversity Jn would have still connected it but the IT park is big enough for a direct connection. An FOB arm landing on the other side of the road makes it easier to reach Raheja Commerzone & Sattva Knowledge Park from this station as well.

Where residents want improvements
The area suffers from a severe lack of pedestrian infrastructure, including footpaths and safe crossing points. With continuous vehicle movement due to signal-free roads, crossing is dangerous, forcing pedestrians to navigate through heavy traffic or take excessively long detours to find foot overbridges, which are often inconveniently located.
Exactly. Why is that a general preference when it’s clearly putting lives at risks to move around in fast moving traffic
Nope. No traffic coming from pristine prime mall as no straight road available. So the traffic from Skyview on the other side be there. So walking is better, one can cross opposite of shah gouse just ahead there is gap in median. Then there are two bus stops and walk towards Skyview and cross towards Nissan showroom. So yeah all good to walk.
Signal is needed, how people will cross the road on foot..? Or dont you think people with out cars are supposed to use roads...
The foot over bridge is 650 meters from the u turn blockade. Let’s assume I am free as fuck and have nothing to do in life and decide to march towards the foot over bridge and cross the road with it. Now I have to cross two junctions by walk as you see on the opposite side than one if I actually directly crossed near bio diversity. Damn
There is no walking infrastructure on these roads.
Cities/places that are planned only for the convenience of vehicles are the bane of human existence
Walking in Hitec City is an absolute nightmare. Most roads don't even have a footpath. The ones that do, have bikes and scooters running on them in peak time. And in non-peak times, it's super hot outside so walking is very uncomfortable to do. Plus, there are barely any footover bridges to help cross the road. You end up having to cross the roads either by jaywalking through running traffic, or by walking all the way to the end of the road at a signal and waiting for a red light. It's just horribly planned. Horribly horribly planned.
Why can’t you walk though? Or cycle. Seems quicker that way.
I work there, I know walking is impossible, these will be stray autos and bikes coming from the opposite side.. .. you have jump medians if you wanna cross from sky view to opposite.. stupid stupid town planning..you have built over bridges for vehicles, why not keep.the road below with better pedestrian infra...
How will you cross the roads, with out traffic stopping? Are you sonic?
Thats a point to talk about, to setup walkways.. there wont be requirement of such circuss if Indians just followed rules...
If you want to go from shah house to your PG, you could have walked.. it's not even a 5 min walk.
Yeah.. seems like you step outside of your house in a bike between your legs or a car around you.. you consider people trying to cross the chaotic roads as the "issue" .. got it...
Seems a walkable distance...
How will you cross the road ? Vehicles are coming non. Stop...how will you cross peacefully
Walking there is a nightmare,.we have to compete with autos and suvs to cross the road.. walking infra is not existent. You read there is no signal right, so the vehicles will be coming NON stop...

The removal of direct U-turns and signals at the junction forces commuters, including residents of the villas and employees of the adjacent tech park, to take a significant detour, adding up to 2 kilometers to their daily travel in each direction.
Same, i too work there, and have to take unnecessary u turns and signals
What!! There’s a full blown tech park with 7-8 20 floor buildings below the flyover. There’s a full society of villas right next to the tech park. This diversion is unplanned
You’re missing the elephant in the room. Divyashree nsl orion tech park is right beside shah gouse and I daily take this stupid u turn to go home along with thousands who work in this tech park.
If a u turn is being removed, atleast don’t force us with a disastrous 2km detour.
Think of the plight of people working in Divya sree Orion. If one have to follow the rules, they have to travel 2 additional KMs while going to office and 2 Kms while going back home

While the signal-free junction aims to reduce traffic at one point, the resulting detours and U-turns are perceived to merely displace or exacerbate congestion in other areas, creating new bottlenecks and overall traffic headaches for commuters.
Also, you’re wrong with the assumption that removing signal makes it traffic free. No it doesn’t. All those people who wanted to take that u turn indeed increase congestion elsewhere
This creates an illusion. It can’t decrease the traffic. Suppose 100 people want to take a right turn. Now these people go forward, take a u turn and immediately start moving left. Now these people merge with 10 more people in the opposite lane who want a left. This creates a huge blockade for people coming in the opposite lane and just want to go straight.
Yeah I work in it. It’s a nightmare. I have to deal with traffic originating from financial district, manikonda, jubilee hills because of these stupid u turns
The worst part about these diversions is that, these are just bandaids on a rotten wound. At some point these would wreak chaos
Nothing they do to "reduce traffic" makes any sense. They just create more traffic and headache
Keep it clear, factual, and helpful for other residents.
The traffic diversions are criticized as being poorly planned, especially considering the presence of a large tech park and residential villas directly adjacent to the affected junction. This lack of foresight creates significant inconvenience for a large number of daily commuters and residents.

Residents and workers in the Divyasree NSL Orion area experience persistent issues with mobile network coverage, specifically with Airtel, indicating a potential deficiency in telecommunications infrastructure in the vicinity.
Divyasree NSL Orion.. Raidurga.. Hyderabad 500002
Most horrible part is I am staying next to Airtel Store but of no use. Location : DivyaSree NSL Orion ,Raidurgam Gachibowli Hyderabad
sometimes 1, sometimes 2 or 3 and 4...never 5 And even we see 4G the speed is less than E

There is a general sentiment of frustration and dissatisfaction regarding the Divyasree NSL Orion area, with some describing the traffic situation as 'chaos' and sarcastically criticizing the innovative ideas of the traffic police.

The extended detours and increased travel distances resulting from the traffic changes lead to higher fuel consumption for vehicles, directly impacting commuters' expenses.
More income to petrol and diesel companies
more fuel consumption, more tax.
I frequently need to take this route and its a gas guzzler :(
